Lin H. Chen, MD, FACP, Northwest University; Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA

Dr. Lin H. Chen is the Director of the Travel Medicine Center at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She has organized a number of educational programs focusing on Tropical Medicine and Travelersí Health for the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM), and the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases (ICEID). She served as the Director of Courses for the ISTM from 2006-2009, a member of the ISTM Research Committee 2004-2009. She is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching in travel medicine, tropical medicine, and international health. She is a Site Director for the GeoSentinel Surveillance Network as well as the Boston Area Travel Medicine Network (BATMN). Dr. Chen was elected to the Executive Board of the ISTM since 2009 and also serves as a counselor of the clinical group of ASTMH since 2009. She has continued to serve on the ASTMH Certificate Examination Committee and the ISTM Professional Education and Training Committee. She has been an Associate Editor for Travel Medicine Advisor since 1997, and Section Editor (Tropical and Travel Medicine) for Current Infectious Disease Reports since 2009. She is a reviewer for a number of journals including Clinical Infectious Diseases, Journal of the American Medical Association, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Journal of Travel Medicine, American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. She is co-editor of the book Infectious Diseases: A Geographic Guide. Her research interests include dengue, malaria, immunizations, immigrant health, and the role of travelers in emerging infectious diseases.
