Elie Berbari, MD, Division of Infectious Diseases, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN

Dr. Berbari is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of medicine in Rochester, MN. He is a member of the Infectious diseases division and the orthopedic infectious diseases section at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. His primary area of research is focused on osteoarticular infections. Since 1996, I have been involved in the design and execution of numerous research projects looking at risk factors, prevention, and outcome of various Bone and joint infections. Dr. Berbari has numerous publications and has recently presented the results of a large prospective case-control study looking at the association of PJI with dental and other invasive procedures. Dr. Berbari will discuss established and novel preventive strategies to reduce the risk of PJI.
