Daniel Morgan, MD, Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD

Dr. Daniel Morgan is an infectious disease physician and epidemiologist. He is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has 24 peer reviewed publications. He has expertise in hospital epidemiology, patient safety, adverse outcomes of infection control interventions and multidrug resistant bacteria. He has mentored 5 students and residents in infectious diseases and outcomes research. On an AHRQ K08 award he is investigating the importance of potential adverse outcomes that may occur when using Contact Precautions. Currently he is the PI on the first project conducted through the SHEA Research Network, examining the impact of CMS nonpayment policy. He is also the PI on an AAMC/CDC project examining automated measures of hand hygiene compliance.
