  • David E. Griffith, MD, University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Tyler, Tyler, TX

    Dr. David Griffith is currently Professor of Medicine, Interim Pulmonary Division Chief, Head of Tuberculosis Services at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Tyler, TX (UTHSCT). Since 2002, Dr. Griffith has also held the William A. and Elizabeth B. Moncrief Distinguished Professorship Chair at UTHSCT. In addition, Dr. Griffith is Clinical Director at the Texas Center for Infectious Diseases (TCID) at San Antonio, TX and the Assistant Medical Director for the Heartland National Tuberculosis Center, which is also based at TCID in San Antonio, TX. His main area of interest has been the study of nontuberculous mycobacterial diseases. He has participated in clinical trials and research projects that have resulted in the establishment of standards for treatment of patients with nontuberculous mycobacterial diseases. He was also the principal author for the most recent American Thoracic Society and Infectious Diseases Society of America Guidelines for the Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention of Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Diseases.
