  • discuss recent changes in the epidemiology and the microbiological flora involved in bone and prosthetic orthopedic implant infection 
  • identify new strategies for prevention and treatment of the more difficult orthopedic infections, namely those that occur in patients with diabetes or with orthopedic prostheses
