Anna-Pelagia Magiorakos, MD, FIDSA, Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Stockholm, Sweden

Dr Magiorakos is a Senior Expert in antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm, Sweden where she has been working since 2009. Dr Magiorakos completed her internal medicine speciality at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois and her infectious disease speciality at Tufts Medical Centre in Boston, Massachusetts and is Board Certified in both specialities by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Before coming to ECDC Dr Magiorakos was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Her interests lie in antimicrobial resistance, healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial consumption and general infectious diseases. She is a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America.
