Alison Freifeld, MD, Internal Medicine, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE

Dr. Freifeld completed medical school and internal medicine Residency at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and an infectious diseases fellowship at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in 1988. She remained at NIH as a senior clinical investigator for 10 years, with a focus on infections in neutropenic cancer patients. She is a Professor of Internal Medicine/Infectious Diseases at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. She established the Immunocompromised Host Infectious Disease program in 2002 and is also the Director of the Vaccine and Safe Travel Clinic at UNMC.
