Thomas G. Slama, MD, FIDSA, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN

Thomas G Slama is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Past President of the IDSA assuming the presidency this October. He is the author of numerous articles and book chapters, has spoken at numerous national and international infectious diseases meetings and symposia and has received numerous teaching awards at his hospital as well as being named the Teacher of the Year by the Indiana chapter of the AOA honorary medical society. Dr Slama has served on the Clinical Affairs Committee, the Nominating Committee and the Annual Program Committee of the IDSA and was the Chairperson of the Clinical Affairs Committee. He received the coveted IDSA's Clinician of the Year Award in 1999 and currently serves on the executive committee of the IDSA's Board of Directors as well as being a member of the Board of Directors for the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases.
