Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • discuss strategies for managing and preventing common sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs) in diverse populations of patients
  • identify data needed to counsel patients more effectively about prevention of common STDs
  • outline and implement strategies to improve detection and treatment of common STDs
  • recognize clinical challenges in the management of STDs common in the HIV care setting, especially syphilis and gonorrhea
