  • describe the functional role of a hospital epidemiologist in relationship to the infection preventionist, the larger quality improvement/patient safety program, and to hospital leadership
  • provide an overview of the readily available resources for regulation, reporting, and practical infection prevention day-to-day practice
  • provide insight into common targets for regulatory surveys and how to meet compliance requirements
