Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • describe the effect of interventions to prevent surgical site infections, catheter-associated bloodstream infections, and dialysis-related infections among children in hospitals participating in nationwide, multi-center improvement initiatives
  • identify factors that facilitate reliable implementation of effective interventions
  • apply lessons learned from these initiatives in their own institutions
