Judith Steinberg, MD, MPH, Healthcare Innovation and Quality, UMass Medical School, Shrewsbury, MA

Dr. Judith Steinberg is the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the University of Massachusetts Medical Schoolís Commonwealth Medicine and the Senior Director of the Office of Healthcare Innovation & Quality in Commonwealth Medicineís Center for Health Policy and Research. Commonwealth Medicine is the public service, consulting and health policy/research arm of UMass Medical School. Dr. Steinberg is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Family Medicine and Community Health at UMass Medical School. Dr. Steinberg is an Executive Lead for the MA multi-payer Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Initiative, the statewide implementation of Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (MOLST) and the Learning Collaboratives for both the MA demonstration for dually eligible (Medicaid and Medicare) beneficiaries and MassHealthís (MA Medicaidís) Primary Care Payment Reform. She also serves as a clinical consultant to MassHealth and the MA Health Policy Commission on healthcare reform initiatives, focused on incentivizing, through payment reform, and delivering integrated, coordinated, person-centered care. Dr. Steinberg received her medical degree from the University of Texas at Dallas Southwestern Medical School, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston and an infectious disease fellowship at Beth Israel/Brigham and Womenís Hospitals, Boston. In 2007-2008 she was a Commonwealth Fund/Harvard University Fellow in Minority Health Policy and in 2008 received a MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston. She continues to practice medicine at Neponset Health Center, Boston and at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, MA.
