Turner Overton, MD, Infectious Diseases, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL

Dr. Overton is a member of the Infectious Diseases faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and serves as the 1917 HIV Clinic Medical Director and Co-Director for the Clinical Core of the Alabama Center for AIDS Reseaerch. He sees patients in the HIV and HCV outpatient clinics as well as inpatients on the UAB consult services. His research interests focus on the long-term complications of HIV, particularly metabolic comorbidities in the setting of suppressive HIV therapy, as well as understanding the underlying immune system with regards to vaccines and HIV infection.
