Andrea Boggild, MD, Parasitology, Public Health Ontario Laboratories, Etobicoke, ON, Canada

Dr. Boggild is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto, and is a Staff Physician in the Tropical Disease Unit and Division of Infectious Diseases at the University Health Network. In addition, she is the Parasitologist for the Public Health Ontario Laboratories. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, and a Master of Science degree in Parasitology, Dr. Boggild entered medical school at the University of Toronto. She completed her post-graduate medical training at University of Toronto in Medical Microbiology and received a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. As a Clinician Investigator in the Dept. of Medicine, she maintains ongoing international research and clinical collaborations in the fields of leishmaniasis, and travel and migration health.
