Stuart Cohen, MD, FIDSA, FSHEA, Division of Infectious Diseases, University of California, Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA

Stuart Cohen received his MD from the Chicago Medical School in 1978. He did an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico. He did a fellowship in Infectious Diseases from 1981-83 at UC Davis and stayed on the faculty there advancing to Professor of Medicine. He became the hospital epidemiologist in 1986 and continues to hold that position. He is a co-director of the antimicrobial control program at UC Davis Health System. He has won numerous teaching awards at UC Davis. He has been the director of the Infectious Diseases fellowship program since 1995. He is a fellow of the IDSA and has served on several committees, including as the first author of the 2010 Clostridium difficile guidelines. He is currently on the SHEA research committee.
