Michael Libman, MD, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada

Dr. Libman completed his medical school as well as fellowship training in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and medical microbiology at McGill University and the University of Montreal. He is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at McGill University, and the Director of the J.D. MacLean Centre for Tropical Medicine at McGill. He is a regular visiting faculty member at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, for their annual international tropical medicine course, and visiting faculty at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia where he teaches in the residency training program in Infectious Diseases. He is also the consultant in infectious diseases and microbiology for the region of Nunavik in the eastern Canadian arctic. His major interest lies in teaching tropical medicine and parasitology. His current research include evaluating the validity and quality of diagnostic tests in parasitology, including microscopy and serology.
