Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • describe the epidemiology of MERS Coronavirus during the first two years since it emerged and be able to identify which patients should be evaluated for MES CoV
  • describe risk factors for transmission of MERS Coronavirus in hospitals and understand how to use lesson learned to prevent spread of MERS CoV in healthcare settings
  • describe animal models that have been developed and treatment and vaccines that are being evaluated
