Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • discuss type, etiology, and grade or stage of wounds
  • identify common and uncommon presentations of acute and chronic wounds
  • list techniques and skills that can improve wound care patients' outcomes (hyperbarics, biologic dressings, stem cell therapies, etc.)
  • identify effective marketing strategies to promote and integrate wound clinics into health care systems
  • list appropriate coding for E&M services for initial patient visits and wound assessments, debridements, and specific procedures
