At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • summarize current recommendations for prescribing and monitoring PrEP
  • identify factors contributing to an HIV and HCV epidemic within a community of injection drug users and explain key prevention interventions to prevent HIV and HCV transmission within a community
  • describe STDs among PrEP users and implement strategies to prevent STD acquisition and transition with patients taking PrEP
