Helen Y. Chu, MD MPH is Assistant Professor in the Division of Allergy & Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington. Dr. Chu’s research is on defining the burden of disease due to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, and other respiratory viruses in South Asia. She has over 30 publications focused on establishing the immunologic and virologic correlates of protection against respiratory viruses in domestic and international settings. Dr. Chu is the primary investigator on a NIH K23 Award and receives funding from the Gates Foundation, PATH, and the Thrasher Foundation. She was recently awarded the Infectious Disease Society Young Investigator Award in Vaccine Development and an American Society of Clinical Investigation Young Physician-Scientist Award.
