Sean Zhang, M.D., Ph.D., The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD

Dr. Zhang is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University and Director of Medical Mycology Laboratory at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is a board certified clinical microbiologist (ABMM) with expertise in Medical Mycology and has an extensive experience of directing large scale diagnostic mycology laboratories in both reference and hospital settings. Dr. Zhang has established himself as a well-known leader in the field of Medical Mycology both nationally and internationally for his clinical service, research scholarship, teaching, and mentorship. His research interests include developing cutting-edge new diagnostic tools for rapid and early diagnosis of invasive fungal infections and in characterizing and discovering new emerging fungal pathogens.
