Alison Freifeld, MD, Medicine, Univ of Nebraska, Omaha, NE

Dr. Freifeld attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and did her internal medicine Residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Paleozoic era. She completed ID fellowship at NIAID, NIH in 1989 where she subsequently developed a clincial and research focus in management of infections in cancer patients while serving as a research physician at NCI. In 2000, she joined the University of Nebraska iand established a program in immunocompromised host ID. She currently holds the rank of Professor of Medicine and directs the Oncology ID program at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center there. Dr Freifeld has authored numerous academic publications, chapters, reviews and guidelines in the field of immunocompromised host and oncology ID.
