Dr. Polgreen is an infectious disease physician and epidemiologist at the University of Iowa. His research focuses on the intersection of clinical medicine, epidemiology and informatics. Specific research topics include: surveillance, mobile computing, infection control, and disease modeling. He is especially interested in developing novel approaches for using both structured and unstructured data to measure a wide range of health outcomes and to understand risk factors for infectious diseases.
