Ritu Banerjee, MD, PhD, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN

Dr. Ritu Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital, in Nashville, TN. She is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America Diagnostics Committee, and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society’s Committee on Antimicrobial Stewardship, and the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Infectious Diseases. In addition to providing clinical care for children with complicated infections, Dr. Banerjee is active in clinical research related to surveillance of antibiotic-resistant bacterial pathogens and strategies to optimize appropriate antibiotic use. She has led clinical trials evaluating the clinical impact of rapid blood culture diagnostics.
