Dr. Chloe Thio received her MD from Yale University, did her Internal Medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and her ID Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. She is currently a Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University in the ID Division of the Department of Medicine. She has an active research program in hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and fatty liver disease. Her hepatitis B research is focused on HIV-HBV co-infection, maternal to fetal transmission, and HBV cure. Her hepatitis C research is focused on HCV in men who have sex with men and host genetics of hepatitis C outcomes. Her fatty liver research is focused on understanding mechanisms of fatty liver and how HIV affects fatty liver disease. She has over 110 publications and has written several book chapters including the hepatitis B and D chapters for PPID.
