Dr. Kelly Echevarria is a National Clinical Pharmacy Program Manager for Pharmacy Benefits Management for the Veterans Health Administration and Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. In her current role, Dr. Echevarria serves as the PBM co-lead for the VA National Antimicrobial Stewardship Task Force. Dr. Echevarria received her Bachelors in Pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree through Creighton University (Omaha, NE). She then completed a specialty residency in Infectious Diseases at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Echevarria is board certified in Pharmacotherapy, with added qualifications in Infectious Diseases. Her primary areas of practice interest include implementation of Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs and appropriate use of new antimicrobials.
