Nathan W. Cummins, MD, Infectious Diseases, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN

Dr. Cummins received his medical education at the University of Kentucky, and completed his internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. He then completed a transplant ID fellowship and subsequent research fellowship at Mayo Clinic, where he joined the staff in 2011. He is a consultant in Infectious Diseases and Chair of Infectious Diseases Research at the Mayo Clinic Rochester, and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. His clinical practice focuses on HIV medicine and transplant infectious diseases, and his research focuses on modulating apoptosis in order to cure HIV. He serves as a member of the IDSA Research Committee Advisory Group.
