Pennan Barry, MD, MPH, Tuberculosis Control Branch, California Department of Public Health, Richmond, CA

Dr. Pennan Barry is Chief of Surveillance and Epidemiology and Lead MD of the MDR TB Consult Service for the Tuberculosis Control Branch in the California Department of Public Health. His areas of interest include tuberculosis epidemiology, multidrug resistant tuberculosis, and molecular assays for drug resistance. He received his MD, MPH, and clinical training in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University before serving as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He completed fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF where he serves as faculty for the Curry International Tuberculosis Center and as attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases.
