Dr. Theresa Madigan was born in Austria and graduated from Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) in Salzburg, Austria, in 2011 with summa cum laude honors. She worked as a Research Intern at the Cellular Neurobiology Laboratory at Mayo Clinic and wrote her M.D. diploma thesis based on the results of this research on spinal cord injury. After graduation from medical school, she worked as a Research Fellow in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Mayo Clinic where she completed a Postdoctoral Certificate Program in 2013. She then completed her residency training in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic Children’s Center from 2013 to 2016 and subsequently began her fellowship training in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Mayo Clinic in the summer of 2016. Dr. Madigan is board certified in Pediatrics and is currently in her final year of fellowship for Pediatric Infectious Diseases. To date, Dr. Madigan has published 8 first author and one second author manuscript, and has presented 11 posters, one oral abstract and two cases at national and international meetings (including presentations at IDWeek 2018).
